Department of Education, Employment and Training
Department of Education, Employment and Training
The Employment Division of the Department provided Community Jobs Program funding for the initiation of the GreenPC Enterprise. This enabled the employment of people who had been long-term unemployed, or at risk of long-term unemployment to be recruited and trained as technicians for the refurbishment and reassembly of PCs. Through this funding the GreenPC has been able to provide unfunded long-term employment outcomes for these people.

City of Yarra

The City of Yarra has been a generous donator of space. In the first half of 2001 they provided workshop space in the old library of the Fitzroy Town Hall. Since April of 2001 to the present they have donated Warehouse space at the old Richmond Depot in Burnley. Without their support and assistance Greenpc would not have been able to develop to its current level of activity in supplying PCs to Atherton Gardens residents and people on low incomes across the State of Victoria.

Under another Microsoft initiative to support technology access for all, Infoxchange were one of the first organizations to be accredited as a Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher (MAR). This allows Green PC to provide cost-free Windows 98 & Works 8 licenses for distribution with Green PC computers. Microsoft Australia also supports the work of Infoxchange Australia by providing software for use by our staff through the Community Assistance Initiative scheme. We are incredibly thankful to Microsoft for their continued and very generous support of the work that Infoxchange and Green PC does.
